About us

In a time where social gatherings were condemned and creating connections was limited by the social distance space we could create, the desire to go outdoors, be adventurous and make new friends had never been greater.

As youth in NYC, roller skating had always been a fun activity to enjoy with friends, destress after school or work and to meet new people that are all learning or perfecting the skill.

This experience was often limited to indoor locations and provide a challenging or intimidating environment for beginner skaters. The roller rink was no longer an option and there was a growing demand for third spaces, social experiences, fun and fit activates.

We decided to remove the fixed location form the equation, bring art, health & wellness activities and experiences into the mix and curate a space where attendees could go outdoors, be adventurous and make new friends.

We combine our beginner skate environment with art, social, health & wellness experiences suited for skaters and spectators. Encouraging attendees to go outdoors, create healthy habits and make new connections in their community. We have since grown to provide skate socials and produce skate events for schools, community organizations, vendors fairs and festivals!

A man wearing glasses, a brown baseball cap, and a face mask is holding a pair of roller skates with blue wheels. There are multiple pairs of colorful roller skates arranged on a table in front of him. Another person is seated nearby, smiling and working with equipment at the table. A banner with the words 'Public Skate' is visible in the background.
